◆	Missions
	●	Provide convenient and efficient computer and network environments for teaching and research activities of the university.
	●	Provide various telephone services.

	●	Campus network infrastructure
			Plan, build, manage, and maintain the campus fiber network, students' dormitory network, and wireless network (working on) .
	●	Internet services
			Provide email account and personal web service for the faculty, staffs, and students.
			Provide essential Internet services including DNS, SMTP/POP3, Web-Proxy, NetNews, etc..
	●	Computer Services
			Manage and maintain PC classrooms.
			Provide computer and network related technical consulting service.
			Acquire and manage campus licensed software.
	●	Campus Telephone System
			Manage and maintain a campus-wide telephone system.

◆	Internet Service
	●	Provide email accounts and personal web services for the faculty, staffs, and students.
			About 12,000 accounts.
			Each user has 20 ~ 100MB disk quota.
	●	Manage and maintain servers.
			DNS clusters.
			SMTP/POP3 clusters (including virus filtering).
			Web-Proxy (Web-Cache).
			NetNews (newsgroups).
			NetFlow analysis and statistics.

			3 PC rooms with Internet access.
			1 word processing room.
			1 multimedia processing room (under construction).
	●	Campus Licensed Software
			Microsoft desktop OS, Office, FrontPage, Visio, Visual Studio .NET, Norton AntiVirus, TrendMicro AntiVirus suite, PhotoImpact, VideoStudio, DynaFonts (Chinese TTF fonts).
	●	Consulting Service
			Information desk.
			Phone call support.

◆	Service Items
	●	Campus network
		This campus uses super exchange fiber network system as core, connecting local area network of each administration in this campus inside, and accessing the Taiwan Academic Network (TANet) and Internet outside. Everyone in this campus can enjoy any functions and services provided by Internet. And other administrations in this campus can use campus network to install their network system, thus the high-speed services can extension to everywhere of the campus. For the staffs and students living out of campus can also access Tsing Hua University campus network via ISP. Hence, network is everywhere.
	●	Dormitory Network
		All dormitories are installed network connected with campus network. Students living in dormitories can apply to center for dormitory network via network, and then can inquire into their network state. And, for each dormitory has network manager who can help user fix the problem, and provide consultation service. The dormitory network micro-controlled system developed by the center can intensify autonomic functions of micro-controlled system and improve the quality and satisfaction of client network connected.
	●	Internet
		The Internet is so widely development that The Internet services requirements for people is increment. The center is in order to assist the faculty, staffs, and students in academic research and education activities, so it provides all kinds of Internet services. The related overview is described as following.
		1.E-mail service
			In order to catch the e-generation Internet World, the center provides e-mail account for the faculty, staffs, and students, so it is convenient for them to have electronic communication way. And with the WebMail services, users can receive their e-mail everywhere with IE. Furthermore, the online POP checks and records tools can let user well know their WebMail’s states.
		2.Personal web service
			Because of the quick development of Internet, personal web becomes the important way to transfer information. Another is that the e-mail account provided by the center can also be used for personal web. So in the last users can install their own web to achieve the purpose of higher information transfer.
		3.Web-Cache service
			In order to increase the speed of browsing web pages, reduce the busy of frequency spend, and improve the performance of network. Thus, this center install web page server systems via Taiwan Academic Network and several inter work ISP to achieve distributed network systems and the services for high speed Web-Cache.
		4.Online network related technical consulting service
			On the second floor of this center provides hand-consulting service, and the users can also link to the web page of Network Systems' online services to inquire the information whenever they want.
	●	Campus Telephone System
		The campus telephone system is constructed by discrete fiber exchange system, and it provides telephone service for the faculty, staffs, students, offices, labs, dormitories, and east-west schoolhouses.
	●	PC classroom and consulting services
		Consulting office provides campus' consulting services (ext:1000 e-mail: service@ cc.nthu.edu.tw), and assists users to solve the computer and network related technical consulting service. Furthermore, it provides various items application, pay fee items, and campus licensed software management. There are five computer classrooms in the center, and all faculty, staffs, and students can use them by their identify cards.
